PLANET BRIGADE’
The
Primary students of C T Public School are growing into
responsible caretakers of planet Earth as they are
learning the necessary lessons of life.
A Tree
Plantation Activity was held today in which children
planted saplings in plant beds and still others came up
with potted plants of Tulsi, Money Plant, Night Queen
etc. The science teacher explained to the students the
need of balanced care of the plants and trees. They need
water, air, sunlight, manure and care of human beings to
grow into healthy plants.

Children
learnt that there is life in plants and they also need
love and attention of humans.
Chairman
CT Education Society, S. Charanjit Singh Channi
appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and motivated
them to spread this message among their families,
friends & neighbors. He said, “Man is dependent on
Nature for all his basic needs. We must respect Nature;
otherwise our future generations will find Earth a
scorched planet.”
Also
present on the occasion were, Co- Chairperson Mrs,
Parminder Kaur Channi and Madam Mrs.Tanika.
Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur said,” CTPS will
continue to inculcate love for nature among its students
as it is the moral duty of an educational Institution. I
am glad to see the satisfaction on the faces of kids who
have planted trees today “.
CT Public School Swimmers Excel
In
Open
District Swimming Championship,2009
An open
District Swimming Championship was organised at Sports
College, Jalandhar on 15th & 16th August, 09 in which
seventeen school & college teams participated
enthusiastically. Our budding swimmers of CT Public
School participated in the junior, Sub Junior & Senior
category with great zest and zeal.

Kanishka
from the Sub Junior Section Boys bagged 5 Gold and One
Silver Medal and brought laurels to his Alma Mater.
Kanishka bagged the Runners Trophy and came out in
flying colours. Shaurya Pratap Singh Khurana from Boys
(Jr. Sec) participated actively and bagged 5 Gold and
One Silver Medal and Kavya Khurana from the Sub Junior
section (Girls) bagged 1 Gold, 6 Silver and 2 Bronze
Medals.
The
Managing Director Mr. Manbir Singh and Principal of the
school Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur congratulated all the
winners and blessed them to do better in the near
future.
The
swimming coach and Mr. Lakhbir Singh H.O.D sports were
the guiding force behind these budding swimmers who
toiled hard day and night and clinched eleven Gold,
Thirteen Silver and Ten Bronze medals in the Open
District Swimming Championship, 2009.
CTPS Hosts Inter School Sahodaya Extempore
Inter
School Sahodaya Extempore Competition was hosted by CT
Public School on 18th August,2009 in which fifty
students hailing from 13 CBSE schools from in and around
Jalandhar participated.

The
judgment panel comprised of Mrs. Satinder Singh Padda-
an eminent educationist from U.S.A Mrs. Ravi Suta-
Lecturer CT College Of Education, Miss. Isha Malhotra-
Lecturer Mass Communication, CT Institute of Management
& IT and Miss. Hema Soni- Lecturer Mass Communication CT
Institutions Shahpur.
The
various schools teams came with enthusiasm and there was
a neck to neck competition. Group I was Junior Group
comprising of students of IX and X and group II was the
senior Group comprising of students of classes XI and
XII.
Competitors were given topics on the spot and only 1½
minutes to think. Judgment was based on fluency,
expression, ideas and thought process.

The Principal of the school Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
congratulated the winners and appreciated the
performance of all the participants. She said that it is
not easy to speak at length on a topic on the spot. One
has to utilize the learning and knowledge gathered in
all the years of schooling and guidance given by
parents. One also has to organize ideas as per the
topic.
Independence Day Celebrated at CT Public School
Independence Day was celebrated in
CT Public School amidst immense national fervour. A
cultural show was presented by school students in order
to express love for Motherland India. Chairman CT
Educational Society, S.Charanjit Singh Channi & Co-Chairperson Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi presided over as
Chief guests. Chairman Sir S. Charanjit Singh Channi,
hoisted the national flag and took the salute from the
marching contingents

Students of classes
I, II, & III expressed their love for ‘Bharat Mata’
through dances based on songs- Rang de Basanti……., Desh
Mera Rangeela…. and Mere Desh Ki Dharti…. Dressed up in
traditional & tricolour costumes, children presented
scenes of India’s freedom struggle and motivated one and
all to imbibe the spirit of nationalism.

Principal Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur said,” India is constantly touching
great heights and so is CT Public School. We all must
remember the sacrifices made by the martyrs. Today when
the developed nations are facing recession India is
still marching towards development.”
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED AT CT KINDERGARTEN
Independence Day
was celebrated by the tiny tots of CT Kindergarten with
great fervour and enthusiasm. Kartik Chadda and Riya
Gupta of U.K.G delivered speeches on ‘Independence’ and
pledged on the behalf of fellow tiny tots to maintain
the freedom, dignity and integrity of the nation.

Students of L.K.G
presented a musical enactment on Vande Mataram. They
were all dressed up in tri-colour costumes and their
faces lit up with ‘I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN’
expression! Group songs Ham Honge Kamyab and Ham Sone Ki
Chiriya were presented by U.K.G students. The national
flag was hoisted by Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur. The
kindergarten In-charge Mrs. Anuradha Sharma was also
there. Sweets were distributed among the little ones and
emotions of patriotism were dominating the scene.

Slogans like ‘Long
Live India’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ were raised.
Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur addressed the children
and asked them to study hard and grow up to serve Mother
India because she gives us every thing. She advised the
tiny tots to always show respect for the National Flag,
National Anthem and freedom fighters.
Science Projects of CT Public School Lauded at CBSE
Regional Level Science Exhibition
Regional Level
(North) Science Exhibition of CBSE was held at Greenland
Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana on 6th, 7th and 8th
August,2009. As many as 272 teams from the North Region
participated with their models based on various topics.
Students of CT
Public School participated with their science models
based on following topics :
I. Harnessing Energy
II. Combatting Climatic Changes

I. The Bio Diesel
Manufacturing Model based on the topic Harnessing Energy
was placed 4th in the category ‘ Harnessing Energy ‘.

This Model shows
manufacture of Bio Diesel from Jutropa Seeds. Bio-diesel
is economical, results in less pollutant emission and
will be of great utility in times to come.A working
diesel engine was put up by students and it was actually
run on bio-diesel. The bio diesel was prepared in school
lab by students. Guidance was taken from engineers of
P.A.U. Ludhiana. Research centres wre visited and seeds
of Jutropa were collected from Jahan Khelan.
II. COMBATTING
CLIMATIC CHANGES
The models based on
this theme were awarded 5th position. Following models
were prepared:
1. Synthetic Trees –Models of synthetic trees were
prepared . These trees can absorb carbon dioxide 1000
times more than a natural tree.
2. Methods of reducing Global Warming :
(a). Use of Recycled Products:- Poly tiles were
prepared in the School lab by the students and
exhibited in the exhibition.
(b). Use of Iron Dust to reduce concentration of
carbon-dioxide in sea water.
(c). Models of Methods of Afforestation.
(d). Model of production of Natural Gas to reduce
intensity of Carbon-dioxide emissions by 86%.
3. Adaptation :-Under this topic working models of
various scientific instruments such as Seismograph ,
Thermister ( forest fire alarm ) etc. were put up by the
students of C T Public School.
4. Importance of Traditional Knowledge :-Models were
also based on the importance of traditional knowledge in
combating climatic changes .
The Principal of the school Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur
appreciated the efforts of the students, H.O.D. Mrs.
Puneet Juneja and the teachers of the Science Department
… Mrs. Maninder Kaur , Mrs. Harpreet Kaur , Mr. Sanjesh
Kumar , Mrs. Sarvjeet Oberoi and Ms. Gunjan Chabbra. She
said the these models will be now displayed for the
students of the entire school to see and will help in
improving their scientific temperament.
INTER SCHOOL SAHODAYA SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP - 2009
A two days Inter
School Sahodaya Swimming Championship 2009 was organised
on Aug, 6 & 7 at PAP DAV Public School , Jalandhar in
which almost 11 CBSE schools from in and around
Jalandhar participated actively. Twenty three budding
swimmers from CTPS participated in Sahodaya Swimming
Championship and exhibited their talent in different
events viz Freestyle, Butterfly Stroke, Back Stroke,
Individual Medley etc.

Ramanpreet Kaur
participated in 200m Individual Medley, 100m Breast
Stroke, 100m Free Style and 4*50m Free Style and bagged
4 Gold Medals and brought laurels to her Alma Mater.
Swimmers from CT
Public School came out in flying colours by lifting
runners-up trophy. CT tians bagged 11 Gold, 30 Silver
and 18 Bronze medals.
The Managing
Director, Mr. Manbir Singh congratulated the students at
their success. The Principal of the school, Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur blessed the students and congratulated
them at their success. She also appreciated the Sports
Department for their hard toil in preparing the
students, for this mega event.
TEEJ MELA HELD AT CT PUBLIC SCHOOL

The festival of
TEEJ was celebrated in its true spirit, colour and
flavour. All the lady teachers were dressed up in
traditional costumes of bright hues and decked up in
jewellery. Even the male teaching staff participated
with fervour.

The Chief Guest of
the occasion was Mrs. Tanika, wife of Managing Director
of CT Group of Institutions as it was her first ‘Teej’
after their recent wedding. She was accompanied by Mrs.
Parminder Kaur Channi, Co - Chairperson of CT Edu.
Society. Also present on the occasion was Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur Principal of CT Public School, Mrs.
Anumita Gosal Vice Principal and Mrs. Anuradha Sharma In
- charge of Kindergarten.
A skit was
performed by teachers highlighting change in attitude of
modern day mothers-in-law. A daughter in law is now
considered as a daughter and her first ‘Sawan’ in
celebrated not by sending her off to parents’ house but
at the in- laws’ house only. Group dance, Gidda, Tappe
and folk songs marked the celebration.
Swings were enjoyed
by one and all! Maalpuras and Kheer were relished by
everyone. A sumptuous lunch was also served .It was
really a celebration in Punjabi Style!
PRINTING PRESS OF DAINIK BHASKAR
On 10th August a
group of 90 students of Class 6th of CT Public School
visited the printing unit of Dainik Bhaskar. They were
excited to learn about various techniques involved in
printing. They picked up information about paper rolls,
quality management, colour and dyes used and how
computers are used for printing purposes.

Ajayvir Singh, a
student of 6th A said, “Now I know how much hard work is
put in by news agencies and newspapers and finally we
get it at home. I will read newspaper daily to get
latest news about sports and my country”. Gurjot of 6th
std. remarked – This visit will remain in my memory for
ever. I am happy to see a PRINTING PRESS.
Mrs. Lakhvinder
Kaur, the Principal of CT Public School said that such
educational field trips are a must for improving
practical knowledge of the students.
