“ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE TEACHING OF ENGLISH
LANGUAGE”

India is a
multi-linguistic country having the study of different
languages and with the emergence of latest teaching
methodologies, classroom strategies, and
transformations done in English Language in the
curriculum for classes IX to XII by CBSE, a one-day
workshop was hosted by CT Public School, Jalandhar on
December 3, 2008 in the Meeting Hall. The workshop was
organized by Mr. Rajeev Trehan, Oxford University
Press, Delhi.

The Resource person Mrs.
Gayatri Khanna, an ELT expert, author of ELT books and
also CBSE and NCERT resource person conducted this
workshop and updated the English teaching faculty
regarding the new changes done by the Central Board of
Secondary Education in the curriculum for classes IX
to XII. The workshop commenced with the welcome speech
by school Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur and conducted
at 2 p.m. English teaching faculty from different CBSE
schools in and around Jalandhar participated in this
workshop with great fervour and enthusiasm.
The Language Workshop
was a refresher course to help English teaching
faculty to be conscious to revive what has not been
applied so far. The teachers from different schools
felt rejoiced to learn all this which had gone through
their subconscious minds and insisted the authorities
to organize such workshop from time to time. Mrs.
Lakhvinder Kaur, the Principal of the school expressed
her sincere gratitude to Mrs. Gayatri Khanna and the
organizers Mr. Rajeev Trehan and Mr. Vishal from
Oxford University Press. She also extended her
heartfelt thanks to English faculty for sparing their
valueable time from their busy schedule to attend this
workshop. She felt rejoiced having seen the workshop
in progress and declared that such workshops, to
update the teaching faculty would be initiated in the
near future. The curtain was led down by serving a
delicious lunch to the guest teachers. Overall, the
English Language Workshop was a great success.

Public School excelled in the Sahodaya Inter-School
Drawing & Painting Competition held at Ambika Modern
Sr. Sec. School. About 15-20 prestigeous schools
from Sahodaya Complex and affiliated to C.B.S.E
participated in it.

Khurana of V-B got 2nd Position.
In Senior Category
Kashish Vij of X-B got 1st Position.
The Principal of the
School, Mrs Lakhvinder Kaur Congratulated the H.O.D ,
Art & Craft Mrs Anjana Sharma and motivated the
students to improve their skills so that they can
touch great heights in the fields of ‘Art’.

EXCELS IN SAHODAYA INTER SCHOOL YOGA COMPETITION

Sahodya inter-School Yoga Competition was held at
A.P.J Public School, Model Town in which yoga Team of
Girls of CT Public School Won 3rd Position.
Principal of the School,
Mrs Lakhvinder Kaur appreciated the commendable
efforts of the students and yoga instructor Mrs
Parminder Kaur along with H.O.D Sports Mr Lakhbir
Singh. She stressed upon the need of yoga and
meditation for students to improve their performance
in studies, sports and other activities.

The Annual Athletic
Meet-2008 was held in the playgrounds of CT Public
School on 17th Dec. ,08.Students of all the four
houses: Lotus, Rose, Marigold, and Jasmine
participated with unlimited spirit and enthusiasm. The
mascot of the event was PHOENIX and the meet was
declared open by Hon’ble Chairman C T Educational
Society, S. Charanjit Singh Channi . The Principal of
the school, Mrs Lakhvinder Kaur participated in the
balloon fleeing ceremony.

The atheletes of the
four houses gave an excellent show of ‘March Past’ and
the Sports Captain administred the oath of true
sportsmanship to all the competitors. Students
participated in 3 categories i.e
1) Sub-Junior
2) Junior
3) Senior
There were various track
and field events such as 100m, 200m, shot put, triple
jump etc.
A cultural show was
presented by students of classes I,II,III. Dumble show
and Lazium Show stole the hearts of
the spectators! The crowds
cheered the participants of their respective houses.The prizes and medals were given away by Co-Chairperson , CT Edu.

There was a tough fight
for various events and some of the important achievers
were:-
The Overall Trophy was
lifted by Jasmine House.The Principal of the school,
Mrs Lakhvinder Kaur congratulated all the medal
winners and appreciated the efforts of House Masters
and Activity Incharge Mrs Pushpinder Kaur as well as
all other teachers. She also appreciated the Sports
Department for preparing the students for various
athletic events. She motivated the students to work
out and play regularly to remain physically fit and
to excel in studies as well.
CTPS HOLD ITS ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION
December 24th,2008
The
Annual Prize Distribution Function of CT Public School
was held on 24th December, 2008. Chairman,
Improvement Trust, Jalandhar, S. Baljit Singh
Neelamahal graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
Chairman C T Educational Society S. Charanjit Singh
Channi, Co-Chairperson Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi and
Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur gave a floral welcome
to the Chief Guest.

After
the ‘Lighting of the Lamp of Knowledge’, students
presented GANESH VANDANA. Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder
Kaur read out the ‘Annual Academic Report’ after
welcoming the esteemed audience including the parents
of prize winners and participants. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,
SUR STUTI, DANCE UNITED and RANGLA PUNJAB were
presented by the students and received a roaring
applause of the audience.

Prizes
were given away for excelling in academics by Chief
Guest S. Baljit Singh Neelamahal. He addressed the
students of the school and motivated them to be good
citizens of the society with their sincere attitude
and sound academics .He also appreciated the cultural
show and inter house dance competition that coincided
with the Prize Distribution Function. The judgement
was given by Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi , Mrs. Amita
and Mrs. Nidhi Walia Tuteja.
The Overall’ Trophy for
Academics’ was lifted by Rose House while
Marigold House won the ‘Best In
Cultural Events Trophy’.

Chairman CT Educational Society, S.Charanjit Singh
Channi delivered the vote of thanks. School Orchestra
got special appreciation from one and all. The
function concluded with the audience standing up for
‘national Anthem’.
