INTER HOUSE FLOWER ARRRANGEMENT & RANGOLI COMPETITION ON CHILDREN’S DAY

Date: November 14, 2008

To mark and commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru , Children’s Day was celebrated on 14th Nov in the school premises, with great zeal and enthusiasm. On this auspicious occasion, an Inter House Flower Arrangement Competition was organised in which students hailing from the four Houses participated actively.

Flowers are the confidants of nature and essence of life. They carry on dialogues with us through the graceful bending of their stems and harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards us and revealing the same fervour, the students arranged their flowers on the themes-Solace,Survival,Oasis and Whirlpool.

The Arrangements were categorized on four basis: Fresh Flower Arrangements ,Dry Flower Arrangements, Foliage and Mixed Flower Arrangements. Children were seen busy working on their themes and used leaves, flowers and other material to bedeck their Arrangements.

A “Rangoli Making Competition” on the themes of Festival and Greh Pravesh was also organized simultaneously. Students from classes VI to IX actively participated in the contest with great zest. They not only sprayed and filled colors but intervened their emotions with their laudable efforts. Each rangoli appeared to be a master piece of art of the budding creators.

Thereafter, a special Mass Assembly was organized in which teachers offered the school prayer, read news and played games with students. Fun and frolic prevailed in the assembly ground.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of the young creative minds who participated in both the contests and remarked that such activities develop the confidence of the students and help to widen their imagination. She remarked that all students looked enchanted and bloomed like roses on the occasion. It appeared to us that the dream of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru has come true.
