Students of CT Public School Learn about Consumer
Awareness
Children and youth are target consumers of most
products but a consumer faces a whole lot of
problems like selling of expired products by
shopkeepers, adulteration, over charging,
imitations etc. Keeping this in view, A Consumer
Awareness Campaign was held at CT Public School.

The students were explained that when they buy
some products, they must check its MRP, Date of
Manufacture and Date of Expiry (or Best Before).
It was made crystal clear to the young minds that
they should know their Consumer Rights:
1. Never let the shopkeeper sell you an expired
product.
2. Never pay more then MRP and always ask for
balance even if a small amount.
3. Never fear questioning the shopkeeper.
4. Beware of imitations that look like original
products but are not.
5. If one feels something is fishy, discuss with
teacher/parents and take necessary action.
The students were enthusiastic about learning
these practical tips which were shared with them
by the school Principal Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, Vice
Principal Mrs. Anumita Gosal and teachers.

Mrs. Lakhvinder Kaur, Principal of CT Public said,
“Education is man making leading to nation
building. So, I want my students to be practically
aware of all that is going on around them so that
they don’t have any problems in life. My students
now know that A Consumer is a King. Also, Children
have impressionable minds. If we teach them
constructive things, they pick them quite
positively. As an educationist I consider this is
a part of my duty to work for the welfare of the
society.” |
